How It Works

Quarterly In-Person Meetings

Two full days. Four times per year. Structured sessions, real-time problem solving, and a working dinner on Day 1. Locations selected collaboratively by the group.

Virtual Sessions Between Meetings

One 90-minute virtual session between each quarterly meeting. Accountability, momentum, and progress — without waiting three months.

Pre-Work and Follow-Up

Every meeting has pre-work to arrive prepared and post-session follow-up to keep commitments on track. This is not passive participation.

When relevant, guest experts are brought in to add outside perspective on specific challenges. Curated, not routine.

Who's Lived It

Doug Adlam has spent 17 years building, scaling, and exiting companies in the Canadian mortgage and financial industries. He scaled his family's mortgage brokerage 40 times over, co-founded a fintech company acquired in 2020, helped scale a national brokerage to billions in originations, and co-founded and exited a wealth management company in 2023.


He's been a member of high-performing masterminds for over six years and has experienced firsthand what the right room can do for a business and a leader.

  • Do I need to have read The Business of Brokering to apply?

    No. Familiarity with the framework is helpful but not required. What matters is your mindset, your commitment, and what you bring to the room.

  • Where do the in-person meetings take place?

    Locations are selected collaboratively by the group in advance. Members have input on where meetings are held.

  • What happens after I apply?

    Every application is reviewed personally by Doug. If there is a fit, you will hear back directly. Due to the selective nature of the group, not all applicants will be accepted.

  • Is this open to solo brokers or only brokerage owners?

    Applications are open to mortgage brokers at any business model — solo, team, sub-brokerage, or brokerage — provided the mindset, goals, and commitment requirements are met.

  • What is the investment?

    Investment details are shared with accepted applicants. This is a full-year commitment covering 4 in-person meetings and 4 virtual sessions.

  • Can I apply if I'm not sure I can meet the attendance requirements?

    Attendance is a core requirement of the mastermind. If you have concerns about your ability to commit, we'd encourage you to wait until your schedule allows for full participation.
